According to Indian media, chutney is a Sanskrit word for which it is believed that the first chutney was made in India during the reign of Shah Jahan when he fell ill.
Shah Jahan’s sage suggested that Shah Jahan should be fed something that is both tasty and spicy, not only that the food should also be easy to digest.
